Where does she want to go?
Maybe she wants to go abroad? Or to another city? Sydney is a perfect choice! Or she wants to stay local. Check if she has an idea, maybe she even has a bucket list of places she wants to visit, and you can include helping her check one of them out of the list. You can bring some options, but be careful to don’t ruin the surprise!
Who is on the guest list?
Ask for a list of guest and their contacts. You will need to find the best way to communicate with them. Remember to check who are the VIP on this list. You are probably one of them, but check if her mother is coming. Or anyone else who would need special attention or can help you with something else.
What is the budget?
She can help you understand the base budget to start your plan. The communication with the others guests will give you a final number. As a start, it is good to have an idea.
Does she have any definite no-nos?
Some brides can’t cope with a crowded club in the city or will hate to be in the middle of nowhere jumping from a platform. Or she can’t imagine a stripper and her mother-in-law in the same room. So yes, better to check first and don’t have any nasty surprises on the date.
Does she want to spend more than one night away?
Of course, this depends on where do you decide to go too. But even if it is local, the Bride may be expecting a girl’s weekend or just one night out. Your budget and plans will change completely depending on that answer.
What is more important for her?
Sometimes your idea of a perfect hen’s party can be different from your Bride-to-be. Is she expecting a fantastic city? Or a budget-friendly that suits all the guests? She can even want a relaxing spa day. I’m pretty sure a private cruise in the Sydney Harbour would do almost all brides-to-be, but better check.
How far from the wedding does she want it to be?
We usually say it should be between 6-8 weeks before. Wedding plans can be overwhelming; everyone wants to be beautiful and rested for the big day. So try to give some time to recover.
