5 steps to start planning a Hens Party

5 steps to start planning a Hens Party! We’ve created a checklist to help you with that, so you can be confident that will be perfect.

If the Bride has chosen you as her maid of honour is because she trusts you. Don’t panic! We are here to help.

Let’s start with the basics of planning a hens party

5 steps to start planning a Hens Party:

  1. What are the Bride’s dreams?

First things first. The most important character at this party is the bride, so if you’re organising the Hens party you need to know what her wishes are.
Does she have an idea of what she wants?
Maybe she always dreamed about that day and has a specific image in her mind (maybe a Hens Party Cruise?!), or perhaps she wants a surprise! Make sure you check in with the bride to be first and see what information you get!
After talking with her, you’re going to have a better idea of what is coming next.

  2. Who is on the guest list?

This is one of the most important questions to ask the bride, so it’s time to get in contact with the B2B.
Remember that every bride is different, some just want to have fun and are all about the friends and want something more fun, but lots of them just want to have a good time with the more intimate and important people, including the bride’s mother and grandmothers.
Let’s create an experience that suits all the special guests for the bride too.
Create and maintain a communication channel with the group, it could be a Facebook or WhatsApp group, they’ll be crucial to everything going smoothly and perfect.
Now you know how big your group is and what the bride’s wishes are you can start to plan the special day in more detail.

  3. Where is it going to be?

Now that you start to have an idea of who the main characters are in this play, you can think about where the celebration can be.
If the bride didn’t choose the place, you will need to ask yourself a few questions.
Will it be overseas? Or in another city? (Sydney is the perfect spot for it!)
Are you going to spend the weekend? Or just a day?
What the bride wants always leads to this question!!
Always start from the biggest to the smallest. Choose the country, then City, then the venue(s)!
Later you’re going to be more specific with hotels and finer details, but to start that’s what you will need to know.

  4. When does it need to be?

It normally depends on when is the wedding and, as with everything else, the bride’s wishes.
Just remember to allow some time, 6 to 8 weeks, between the two parties to recover!
It’s important that none of you feels overwhelmed from the tasks for each party and a little break between them time helps a lot!
Is it going to be summer or winter? Day or night?
With all of this in mind, create a list of possible dates and share it with the guests to see what is better for them too.
Just remember that sometimes it is impossible to please everyone, so focus on the bride! Always!

  5. How much can you spend?

That’s an important part of the plan.
Who is paying for it? And how much is your budget?
The communication channel with the guests you’ve chosen will help you to define it.
The budget determines all your choices from now on. Define a budget and stick to it.

That’s everything you’ll need to start planning the perfect hens party for your special hen.
